Golf best bets: 3 props for the Wells Fargo Championship

We were able to cash a plus-money matchup on Alex Noren to beat Si Woo Kim at last week's CJ Cup Byron Nelson, but we struck out on our other two prop bets. We're looking to bounce back with a better showing at this week's Wells Fargo Championship, a signature event with a strong field sans Scottie Scheffler.

Here are our favorite three props for the Wells Fargo Championship.

Akshay Bhatia top-20 finish (+150 FanDuel)

Akshay Bhatia has been playing some fantastic golf of late. The American has four top-20 finishes and a win in his last five starts, and he's gained strokes from putting in all five. His worst finish in that span was a T35 at The Masters, but it was his first career start at Augusta National Golf Club. That's a great finish for a 22-year-old who had never seen the golf course before that week.

Bhatia ranks sixth on the PGA Tour this season in strokes gained on approach and 19th in total driving. He's deadly accurate off the tee and great with his long irons, which are perfect strengths for Quail Hollow Club.

Wyndham Clark top-5 finish (+330 FD)

Wyndham Clark loves signature events. He has a win and two other top-three finishes in five signature events so far this season, and that doesn't even include his T2 finish at The Players Championship. The guy just knows how to step up in the biggest tournaments (aside from his missed cut at The Masters, which was also his first start at Augusta).

We also know he loves Quail Hollow considering he won this tournament by three strokes last year and ranked No. 1 in the field in strokes gained from tee to green. Clark has lost to only Scheffler twice this season. Without him in the field this week, Clark could go back-to-back.

Alex Noren top Nordic (+105 DraftKings)

We're going right back to Noren for the second week in a row. This is essentially a one-on-one matchup because Viktor Hovland is the only other Nordic player in the field this week, and we have no problem fading him with a plus-money price.

Hovland is struggling to find his game right now. The reigning FedEx Cup champion has finished T58, T19, T36, T62 and cut in his last five starts. He lost strokes in all four major categories at The Masters, and he's been one of the worst chippers on Tour all year.

Noren, on the other hand, has been a model of consistency this season. The veteran has six straight top-23 finishes, and he's coming off a T3 at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson in which he gained strokes in all four major categories. These two players are going in opposite directions, and Hovland is only favored in this market because he's a bigger name.
