Cincinnati Reds Rookie Collects First Career Hit, Accomplishes Random Feat That No Player Has Ever Done

The Cincinnati Reds have now lost six consecutive games and have fallen out of first place in the National League Central.

They lost 11-10 to the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday night to fall to 50-46 and 2.5 games back in the division.

Though it was a loss, it was a memorable night for Reds rookie Christian Encarnacion-Strand, who was just called up this week from the minor leagues.

It was a memorable night in that he got his first career hit and his first career home run - and that he also made some of the most random baseball trivia you'll ever see.

Christian Encarnacion-Strand of the @Reds is the first player in MLB history to have a go-ahead pinch-hit HR with his team trailing in the 5th inning or later for his first career hit.

Random history? Sure. History still the same though!

"CES" as he's known went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a run scored in the loss.

He's currently the No. 5 prospect in the organization but will move up once Elly De La Cruz and Andrew Abbott exhaust their eligibility.

The 23-year-old was drafted in the fourth round of the 2021 draft by the Minnesota Twins. He was acquired by the Reds in the deal that sent Tyler Mahle to Minnesota.

The Reds will take on the Giants again on Wednesday night. First pitch from Great American Ball Park is set for 7:10 p.m. ET. Ross Stripling (0-2, 6.11 ERA) pitches against Graham Ashcraft (4-7, 5.95 ERA).
