Fallout: New Vegas Devs, Obsidian Working On New ‘Cross-Platform’ RPG

Obsidian Entertainment, the acclaimed developer behind the popular title Fallout: New Vegas, is embarking on a new venture with a cross-platform RPG project. The studio, renowned for its rich narrative-driven role-playing games, is developing this new title using the Unreal Engine.

The studio first collaborated with Xbox with the release of Grounded, a survival game set in a miniaturized world reminiscent of the classic film “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.” This unique concept received a warm reception from both players and critics, setting the stage for Obsidian’s continued success. Following Grounded, Obsidian released Pentiment in 2022, a narrative-heavy RPG that gained notable attention and praise for its engaging storytelling and art style.

Obsidian’s forthcoming project, “Avowed,” is already generating excitement among fans and industry observers. Set in a lavishly detailed fantasy universe, Avowed is being developed as an action-packed RPG for PC and the Xbox Series X/S platforms. Initially announced as an Xbox console exclusive, recent job postings suggest the game could eventually expand to other platforms such as PlayStation and Nintendo systems.
