Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Drew McIntyre comments on re-signing with WWE.

On April 27, The Rock announced that Drew McIntyre had re-signed with WWE. McIntyre’s contract was coming up, but he agreed to a new deal with just weeks to spare. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported that the two sides agreed to a three-year contract.

On April 30, Drew McIntyre took to Twitter and shared a picture of himself and WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H backstage at WWE RAW. He wrote that he trusted Triple H when he brought Drew back to WWE in 2017. McIntyre stated that he trusts Triple H now to lead the evolution of the industry.

“Here’s to the future,” Drew McIntyre wrote.

McIntyre is a two-time WWE Champion, among other accolades. He has been on a well-renowned run in recent months, and he has been feuding with CM Punk.

McIntyre won Men’s Elimination Chamber match to earn a world title shot at WrestleMania 40. He went on to win the World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Seth Rollins at WrestleMania. Punk immediately cost him the title, and their rivalry has continued to heat up ever since.
